My August Plans

c. alise

Being back has allowed for some great quality family time!

Well, another month, another re-extension of the Peruvian border closure. It was not the news I was hoping to hear, but I continue to do my best leaning into the Lord's sovereignty, practice waiting on the Lord, and practice trusting Him through this.

So, what will I do for this month? I will continue remotely managing, producing, and coordinating the Peruvian church's media and communications. Thankfully, within the past month, the process for collecting, editing, and posting the videos for the church service has smoothed out and therefore I have been able to cut down the amount of time it takes me to produce our two weekly services. This has freed up some of my time and has got me thinking, "Okay, how can I maximize my time, resources, and opportunities while I am still here in Chattanooga?" After seeking the Lord's direction, I have decided to plug in more in the local church. Meeting recently with some of my monthly supporters, I have been encouraged and assured that God will continue providing the financial support I need, and therefore I have the opportunity to better my skills and experience in my ministerial avenues.

Furthermore, I have decided to use this extra time at the Calvary Chattanooga in order to build upon my ministry skills and experiences in order to better serve the ministry in Peru, even if from afar. At this point, I will be helping out with the kids ministry, and I hope to eventually get involved in the communications and production ministry at Calvary Chatt as well. Of course, I will continue creating and sharing weekly kids lessons with our families in Peru, generating social media and communications content, assisting where needed with our new small groups (to read more about those, click here), and more.

Although I would have planned to be back in Peru by now if it were up to me, I am really excited for what is to come in this month. And I continue to be thankful for this unexpected extra time with family and friends.
